~MobILe dEVice~

I am sure that all of you have heard about or familiar with notebook, laptop and tablet.
Actually all of these are known as mobile computer. Mobile computer is a personal computer you can carry from place to place. Similarly, a mobile device is a computing device small enough to hold in your hand.

A notebook computer is a battery- or AC-powered personal computer generally smaller than a
briefcase that can easily be transported and conveniently used in temporary spaces such as on airplanes, in libraries, temporary offices, and at meetings.
A notebook computer, sometimes called a laptop computer , typically weighs less than 5 pounds and is 3 inches or less in thickness.

Among the best-known makers of notebook and laptop computers are IBM, Apple, Compaq, Dell, Toshiba, and Hewlett-Packard.Notebook computers generally cost more than desktop computers with the same capabilities because they are more difficult to design and manufacture. A notebook can effectively be turned into a desktop computer with a docking station , a hardware frame that supplies connections for peripheral input/output devices such as a printer or larger monitor. The less capable port replicator allows you to connect a notebook to a number of peripherals through a single plug.

NOTEBOOK

laptop is a portable personal computer with a clamshell form factor, suitable for mobile use.  A laptop has most of the same components as a desktop computer, including a display, a keyboard , a pointing device such as a touch pad  (also known as a trackpad) and/or a pointing stick , and speakers into a single unit. A laptop is powered by mains electricity  via an AC adapter , and can be used away from an outlet using a rechargeable battery

The basic components of laptops function similarly to their desktop counterparts, but are miniaturized, adapted to mobile use. The design bounds on power, size, and cooling of laptops limit the maximum performance of laptop parts compared to that of desktop components.

LAPTOP

Tablet computers have become very popular over the last few years. As a result there are now a lot of manufacturers making them. This means that you have to know what to look for when you are buying a tablet. In order to do this you have to know which features are the most important.
The most important feature of a tablet computer is the touch screen. This is how you will use the tablet for the most part so you want to make sure that you get one that has a really good touch screen. The best of them use what is known as capacitive technology which allows you to use the screen with very little pressure from your finger. It can’t be stressed enough how important a good touch screen is, you will regret it if you get a cheap one that is not up to par.

TABLET PC

These 3 devices are classified as mobile device or mobile computer...with this innovative devices give a lot of

advantages to us...

~Output devices~

Output devices???

An output device is any hardware component that conveys information to one or more people.Three commonly used output devices are a printer, a monitor and speakers. Actually we already familiar with the devices. Only the term "output devices" that we rarely heard.

speaker

monitor

printer

In this entry I will explain about these 3 types of output devices.

Speakers are one of the most common output devices used with computer systems. Some speakers are designed to work specifically with computers, while others can be hooked up to any type of sound system. Regardless of their design, the purpose of speakers is to produce audio output that can be heard by the listener.
Speakers are transducers that convert electromagnetic waves into sound waves. The speakers receive audio input from a device such as a computer or an audio receiver. This input may be either in analog or digital form. Analog speakers simply amplify the analog electromagnetic waves into sound waves. Since sound waves are produced in analog form, digital speakers must first convert the digital input to an analog signal, then generate the sound waves.

The Monitor

It is the most commonly used output device. The monitor is a soft copy (means we can modify contents of data and data is temporarily on the screen) output device. A monitor looks like a television and it displays alphanumeric and graphic output. A monitor is also called Visual display unit (VDU) or Cathode Ray Tube (CRT). The special program called Screen Dump Saves contents of the monitor screen.

Types of Monitor:
According to resolution, a monitor is of two types:
· High Resolution (Good quality of text and graphics on the screen)
· Low Resolution (Low quality of text and graphics)
Sizes of Monitor
According to screen size, a monitor is available in different sizes:
· 3 to 30 inch screens are available in the market.
· 15 and 17-inch screen are common now a day.

According to volume, a monitor is of two types:
· CRT (Cathode ray tube):
Monitors of this type screen are used commonly in homes, colleges and offices. These monitors are big and require big area to place, power and have weight more than 10 pounds. We cannot move these monitors easily.

· Flat - panel tube:
These monitors are also available nowadays in markets. These monitors are normally used in Laptop computers and we can also use these monitors in desktop computers. There are several types of flat-panel monitors, but the most common is the liquid crystal display (LCD) monitor.

According to display, a monitor is of two types:

· Monochrome
These monitors display images only in single colour. This colour can be white, green, blue, red or amber. This monitor can display shades of one colour and the computer industry uses the term gray scales to refer to the number of shades of a colour that can be shown on a monochrome monitor’s screen.

· Colour
This monitor shows graphics with full colours. These monitors produce images in three mixed colours, which are red, green and blue that is why these are also called RGB monitors. A typical monitor can display 256 to 65536 colours.

Touch Screen Monitor:
Touch Screen monitors allow the user to point directly at the computer display, usually to select from a menu of choices on the screen. Most touch-screen computers use sensors in, or near, the computer’s screen that can detect the touch of a finger. Touch screens are appropriate in environments where dirt or weather would render keyboards and pointing devices useless and where a simple interface is important.

Printers

Printers are the most commonly used output devices that can be found in almost all computer centres. Printers are used to get prints of important documents on a paper. The output, which is generated by a printer, is called hard copy of the data. Printer is also called a hard copy output device.

Categories of printers:
Broadly there are two categories of printers:
· Impact printers
This printer uses the familiar typewriter approach of hitting a character against paper and inked ribbon.

· Non-impact printers
These printers do not hit or impact a ribbon to print. They use thermal electrostatic, chemical, and inkjet technologies. These printers move a print head across the page.

Classification of printers:Printers are classified as:
· Character printers
· Line printers
· Page printers

So, this all for this entry....I hope that with some information that I share will help you understand more about output devices..

Ever heard about power bank???

Along a few weeks before this I always heard about power bank from my friends as many of them have already started to use it. They said that it is very helpful especially for those that use smartphone.
So, after that I try search on internet to get more  informations about it.

As we know with the rapid development of Global economy, the continuous improvement of living standards, there are more and more portable electronic products in the world, Such as mobile phones,i-phone,ipad,digital cameras, camcorders, portable DVDs ,PDA,MP3,MP4,GPS.
They all have to use batteries, but the battery for built-in battery are low, because the battery capacity can not meet the device appears to the normal use of time.
When traveling or on business, it is the peak of working of these devices, so it appears that mobile is on the phone, the digital camera is taking pictures,PSP video game playing time is energetically.
And at this time the battery run out of power, make you feel very helpless and powerless. And you can not put each device is equipped with a spare battery. Not only have to spend a lot of money to buy a device for each battery. Also it brings the more burdens to travel. to solve this annoying problem.
Through continuous research and exploration, and finally we developed " Mobile Power Bank". They can solve many mobile devices, power supply problems in order to solve the power shortage and then make work and travel carefree.Mobile Power Bank with high capacity, unit capacity from 1000mA to 20000mA or more. They appear Attractive, compact, small size, light weight, easy to carry. the standard USB output interface.Intelligent battery indicator,lithium-ion polymer batteries 5V devices are widely used, such as iphone 3G/3GS,iPhone 4,iPhone 4S,iPad,iPad 2,Nokia,Motorola, Samsung,Dopod,Sony Ericesson and digital products like I-POD,PMP, PSP,NDS,PDA,cameras with USB connecter. A variety of connectors provide you more options.

DISK CLEANUP???

During my previous class, I already learned about utility programs, also called utility, is a type of system software that allows a user to perform maintenance-type tasks, usually related to managing a computer, its devices,or its programs.

Maintenance???

I never ever do that to my lappy because I never heard about it before this until I learned it from my class. My lecturer advices us to that so that it can maintain our PC at good conditions and also can help increase speed of system in computer.

Disk cleanup actually a utility searches and removes unnecessary files. Unnecessary files may include downloaded program files, temporary Internet files, deleted files and unused program files.

So, for this entry, I will share about steps to do disk cleanup to our computer. ;)

The only storage device that I know is pendrive...
From what I learned during my CSC class...storage device functions as to holds data, instructions, and informations for future use.
Storage media is where the computer keeps data, instructions and information on. Examples of storage media are USB flash drives, hard disks, optical discs and memory cards.
Pendrives is actually other name for USB flash drives..

EXTERNAL HARD DISKS

USB FLASH DRIVES
MEMORY CARDS

OPTICAL DISC
There are comparisons  between all types of storage media...Look here to to get more information
That's all for this entry...hope this can help you understand more about storage devices :)

~wInDows 8~

Windows 8.....the latest windows now...
Before this I already heard about it and most of the users give a good feedback about Windows 8.
It's attract me to gain more detail information about Windows 8.
I still use windows 7 for my lappy now as for me this windows is good enough and easy for me to use it.
But....
I already attracted to windows 8 as it is more interactive, innovative and awesome compare to the Windows 7
Still not believe???
Just check it out here http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/windows-8-new-features-you-will-love/ to know more about Windows 8.

Windows 7

Windows 8

Look very attractive when we use in our pc  ^_^
Windows 8 is actually operating system (OS) that is a set of program containing instructions that work together to coordinate all the activities among computer hardware resources. So, we can choose whatever OS that we like...

~WeLComE To CSC clasS~

In my semester 4, I must take new subject that is CSC 134 which stands for computer and information processing. For the first time I took subject that I never learn before. In this subject mostly learn about computer. It is quite interesting because I learn many new thing and discover about world of computer and technology. Many term that I know from this subject such as system unit, output and input device and many more.

part of sillibus that learn in CSC 134

Isn't that cool ;) ....and because of this subject I become a person from zero knowledge about computer to person that know what is computer actually.
I hope that I can explore more about computer, devices, and technology more deeply later. =)
